I am husband to a lovely wife of 20 years, Pam Brown and four children, Katy-17, Kandace-13, Clara-6 and Andrew-6. I’m an elder/shepherd at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church in Wilkesboro, NC. I’m “homegrown.” The church called me as “pastor” on August 12, 2007. I was raised in the church and have been attending this church all of my life. I’m truly an Acts-type elder in that the church appointed one of its own to do the work of leading, teaching and discipling within the body of believers. Prior to being led to the work of the pastorate, I worked as a businessman for 17+ years in the furniture, textile-apparel and millwork/hardwood flooring industries in various capacities within finance and sales and upper management. My family and I homeschool and the two smallest children were both adopted from China.
Hey,
Nice story!
Thanks for sharing your story of adoption and Andrew’s corrective procedures thus far… We are seriously considering adopting a boy from the same orphanage. I wish I could get a glimpse of what life is like for him there!
